This rooftop is one of the most famous in Rome and offers panoramic views of Piazza di Pietra and the façade of the Church of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. Why not enjoy a romantic sunset with a refreshing and colourful cocktail in hand?
The terrace spans 400 m² across the entire rooftop, providing ample space for relaxation, contemplation, and new connections.

9Hotel Cesàri, a place steeped in history

With over 200 years of history, Albergo Cesàri is a unique and exceptional hotel in Rome. In 1787, Pope Pius VI's secret chamberlain granted innkeeper Stefano Cesàri a license, making it one of only two official hotels in Rome until the late 19th century.
This historic building has welcomed many notable figures, including French writer Stendhal, who stayed here in the early 1800s.
The hotel survived the fascist period and even hosted Allied officers after the German occupation. Proud of its heritage, it remains one of the best-located and oldest hotels in Rome.

Explore Rome from 9Hotel Cesàri

Thanks to its central location, many of Rome’s historical sites are within walking distance. For destinations further away, such as Vatican City or Villa Borghese, you can easily access nearby bus stops or take the metro from Barberini or Spagna stations.

A hotel near the Trevi Fountain
9Hotel Cesàri is just a short walk from the famous and romantic Trevi Fountain. Sculpted in the 18th century and immortalised by Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, this baroque masterpiece stands at the intersection of three streets—hence the name "Trevi" (from tre vie).
This monumental fountain, backed by the Palazzo Poli, remains one of Rome’s most visited attractions. Legend has it that throwing a coin over your shoulder into the fountain grants a wish—an essential tradition during a romantic Roman stay.

Visit St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums

The Vatican houses some of Rome’s most remarkable art collections. The Vatican Museums include the Sistine Chapel, with Michelangelo’s awe-inspiring Last Judgment fresco.
You can also visit St. Peter’s Basilica—one of the most visited monuments in the world and the largest Catholic church. This baroque masterpiece, influenced by Bramante, Michelangelo, and Raphael, holds the relics of Saint Peter, the first pope.

A peaceful stroll through Villa Borghese

Villa Borghese is an 80-hectare public park with cultural institutions like the zoo and the famous Borghese Gallery. Inspired by Villa Medici, the gallery houses the Borghese family’s extraordinary art collection, featuring works by Rubens, Bernini, Canova, and Botticelli.
Both the gardens and the museum offer serene, romantic settings for a leisurely couple’s walk.

Reach Piazza di Spagna from 9Hotel Cesàri

Piazza di Spagna is one of Rome’s most iconic squares, known for its monumental staircase leading to the Church of Trinità dei Monti.
Located in the luxury shopping district and once the heart of the French community in Rome, the area includes the French church Saint-Louis-des-Français and Villa Medici.
Spain took over the square in 1620, giving it the name "Piazza di Spagna" and placing its embassy to the Holy See there. Since the 18th century, hotels and inns have welcomed visitors here. A must-see, and only a short walk from the hotel.
